Kash Killion - Stefano Pastor Duo

The excellent afro-american cello player Kash Killion and the violin of Stefano Pastor. Nothing else. Recorded on November 24, 2007 this session is an interesting document about a new way to think to string instruments in jazz. Kash is one of the most talented cello player in the world and he performed and recorded with Cecil Taylor, Sun Ra Arkestra, Paul Murphy, Marco Eneidi, Joel Futterman and many others. Between vanguard, a tribute to Thelonious Monk and some indian taste performances (Kash also plays the sarangi), this recording represent the meeting between two musical and human universes.

Borah Bergman - Stefano Pastor Duo

“…The duo is inedited, both the musicians met together few time before and they rehearsed a little bit. This is usual in jazz. In this case  an interesting thing comes out. It is the wish to meet together, to know the other, to converse together. And it comes out very clearely in this concert because it's a concert in which we can hear the dialogue from the beginning and it's a very dense dialogue, as well we can feel that it's a true dialogue: both the musicians listen to the other, follow and replay to the other. This is because this is a very interesting concert …”

English CDs

In September 2006 I was in England to play live with some extraordinary musicians as George Haslam, Harry Beckett, Paul Hession, Richard Leigh Harris, Steve Kershaw. In the photo below, by Simon Murison-Bowie, you can see Haslam, Leigh Harris, me, Beckett and Kershaw at the Holywell Playhouse.

In those days we recorded two CDs: one live at the Holywell Playhouse, in Oxford; and one at the Bullpen Studios, Oxfordshire.

Both the CDs will be issue in the next months. Here you can download two mp3 by those recordings.
